comparing anything to Grimoire is just plain unfair Laughing

I kinda wish Grimoire would finish up. I'd like to give it a try.

LOL - I had just been thinking of DD and I came over here looking for whatever happened to it. Guess that answers the question.

Everytime I get the itch to play Talisman I am reminded of DD. No board game time is going to happen for me, unfortunatley, so let me add to the chorus of "pleeeeeeeeease..." once again so I can at least get my single-player equivalent fix. Razz

according to this interview, in march DD will be 5 years behind schedule!

"VD: What’s the current schedule for Dungeon Delvers?

ADAM: We should be done by March 2005. We’re on schedule right now to meet that date."

If it came out next month it would be 5 years behind schedule. At this point, I don't know when (or even if!) it will be finished. I have a code base that's always close - but somehow always find myself distracted. A dilemma to be sure.

Would DD be in an aplha-testable state at this point...?

I'm not ready to release it as an alpha right now.

No worries - wasn't too serious. Just want to keep up the enthusiasm on our end.

Keep up the good work and get to things as you can. I firmly believe that the "race" between Dungeon Delvers and the Demise: Rise of the Kutan Expansion: Ascension

http://www.decklinsdemise.com/news.php

is one of the greatest and most significant from a gameplay perspective of all time. Dungeon Delvers for the tremendous possibilities in terms of expansion and adaptive gaming and Demise: Ascension for something of a somber conclusion to the "war" from ancient times between Wizardry and it/Mordor from the even older day Oubliette (sp?) game that both generally spawned from and history followed as it did.

Besides, in theory, the longer it takes the more experience I'll, and others surely, will have as a beta or alpha or whatever testers to help out to greater effect! Wink Currently polishing that aspect on Soldak Entertainment's latest game Din's Curse.

Personally, I believe both of these projects are a joke when they take over 5 years to complete. Clearly, the programmers have lost interest for a reason and the game is no longer important to them. This is when all the code should be released at Sourceforge and let someone else finish it.

If you don't care about the game, work on another game or something else you care about but don't string us along for 5 years. I get to the point where I almost forget about this site and then I remember and go check it to see what's up with Dungeon Delvers. It's always the same disappointment.
